How We Get Program Data

We often get questions about where our program data comes from. Here is an overview of how we put together our program database for each cycle. If you have questions or concerns about any of the data, you can always reach us at support@prepanavigator.com.

Where the data comes from

Our two primary sources are public:

• Each program's official website. Most fields you see — deadlines, tuition, prerequisites, class profile, outcomes — start here. Programs publish this information themselves; we read it from the same pages you could visit directly.
• ARC-PA, the body that accredits PA programs, for accreditation status and history. We parse out accreditation history from the PDF that each program is required to publish.

We don't have private feeds or partnerships with PA programs. Everything we publish comes from sources you could find yourself. Our value is doing that work consistently across every accredited program in the U.S. so you don't have to.

How we keep it current

Programs are re-synced on a regular cadence, typically once every few months throughout the application cycle. When a program updates its website, the change makes its way into the app on the next refresh.

For detailed fields (cost, outcomes, prerequisites, class profile, accreditation, deadlines), we use an AI pipeline to extract structured data from each program's pages. Every extraction is scored for confidence before anything is published.

How we verify accuracy

• Cross-checking — when the same field appears on multiple pages or sources, we compare them and flag mismatches.
• Confidence thresholds — low-confidence extractions don't go live; they're held for review.

No system is perfect. Programs occasionally update their site between our refreshes, and parsing real-world web pages will sometimes get a field wrong.

If you spot something that looks off, please tell us — see the Report Incorrect Data guide. Confirmed reports earn you 10 AI credits, and most reports are reviewed within 24 hours on weekdays.

The faster we hear about errors, the faster every PrePA Navigator user gets the corrected data.
