3. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We share your information with third-party service providers who help us operate the Service. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify:
OpenAI (AI Chat and Essay Coach)
When you use our AI Chat or Essay Coach features, we send relevant context to OpenAI's GPT models to generate responses and suggestions. This may include your profile information, uploaded documents, chat messages, and essay drafts. Under OpenAI's commercial API terms, your data is not used to train their models by default. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
Anthropic (Document Extraction)
When you upload documents for profile import or context compilation, we may send document content to Anthropic for text extraction. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, your data is not used to train their models by default. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
Stripe (Payment Processing)
We use Stripe to process payments. When you subscribe, Stripe collects and processes your payment information directly. We do not store your full credit card number. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Sentry (Error Monitoring)
We use Sentry to monitor application errors and performance. This includes collecting error logs and session replay data to help us fix issues. See Sentry's Privacy Policy.
PostHog (Usage Analytics)
We use PostHog to understand how users interact with our Service, including page views, feature usage, and session data. PostHog may use cookies for analytics persistence. See PostHog's Privacy Policy.
Loops (Email Delivery)
We use Loops to send transactional and lifecycle emails (verification codes, notifications, onboarding). See Loops's Privacy Policy.
Discourse (Community Forum)
Our community forum is powered by Discourse. When you access the forum, we share your email, name, and account identifier via single sign-on (SSO). Forum posts and profile information are visible to other forum members and may be publicly searchable. See Discourse's Privacy Policy.
Discord (Community Server)
If you connect your Discord account, we access your Discord user ID and username to manage community server access and subscriber roles. We do not read your Discord messages. See Discord's Privacy Policy.
Marker.io (Feedback Collection)
We use Marker.io to collect user feedback and bug reports. See Marker.io's Privacy Policy.
Google Ads (Advertising)
We use Google Ads to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. When you interact with our site after clicking a Google ad, Google may receive information such as page URLs and conversion events (e.g., sign-up or purchase). This data is used solely for ad measurement and optimization. See Google's Privacy Policy.
PromoteKit (Affiliate Tracking)
We use PromoteKit to attribute visits to affiliates who refer visitors to our Service. When you arrive via an affiliate link, PromoteKit receives visit metadata (referrer, click identifier). While referral rewards are paused, we do not send Stripe purchase attribution to PromoteKit; we keep the referral identifier only in our own Stripe checkout metadata for later reconciliation. The PromoteKit script may still record visit data on our pages. See PromoteKit's Privacy Policy.
We may also share your information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition).
4. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Session cookies: Keep you logged in and maintain your authenticated session
- Preference cookies: Remember your theme preference (light/dark mode)
- Analytics cookies: PostHog may set cookies to track usage patterns and session data across visits, helping us understand how the Service is used
- Advertising cookies: Google Ads may set cookies to measure ad conversions and attribute sign-ups to advertising campaigns
When you first visit our site, we ask for your consent before setting analytics or advertising cookies. You can change your preferences at any time using the "Cookie Settings" option in the footer or settings menu.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. We do not currently respond to DNT signals. You can manage cookie preferences using the consent banner or through your browser settings.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes (such as maintaining audit logs or complying with legal obligations).
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. You can also download your data directly from your account settings.
- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal information. You can delete your account directly from your account settings.

Content posted in public community areas may be retained even after your account is deleted, where removal would disrupt conversation threads.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we may also send you an email notification.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the Service after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
