Key Features
Stats Overview
At the top of the page, summary cards show your overall essay progress — total essays, not started, in progress, ready, and submitted counts.
CASPA Essays
Your shared CASPA essays appear at the top:
- Personal Statement — Your main CASPA personal statement, shared across all applications
- Life Experiences — Optional life experiences essay, also shared across all applications
Supplemental Essays
Below the CASPA essays, supplemental essays are grouped by application. Each group shows the program name, institution, supplemental deadline, and a progress bar. Click the group header to expand or collapse its essays.
Essay Status Tracking
Each essay shows a status badge:
- Not Started — You haven't begun writing yet
- Drafting — Work in progress
- Ready — Complete and ready for submission
- Submitted — Sent with your application
Progress bars on each application group show how many essays are in each status at a glance.
Writing & Editing
Click any essay to open the editor. The editor shows your word and character count in real time so you can stay within limits — warnings appear when you're approaching or exceeding the limit.
AI Assistance
Use PrePA AI to get feedback on your essays. The AI can help with structure, clarity, and strategy — though you should always keep your authentic voice.
Tips
- Start your personal statement early — it's the foundation for many supplemental essays.
- Write supplemental essays in batches for programs with similar prompts to save time.
- Use the progress bars to quickly spot which applications still need essay work.
- Check word and character limits carefully — exceeding them can disqualify your submission.
