Application Tracker
The Application Tracker (My Applications) is where you manage every program you're actively applying to — from initial preparation through final decisions.
How to Access
Click My Applications in the sidebar, or navigate to /my-applications.
Free accounts can track up to 3 applications; Premium accounts are unlimited.
Key Features
Triage Strip
At the top of the page, color-coded counters show how many applications are:
- At Risk — Has a deadline and hasn't been submitted yet
- Due in 7 days — Deadline is within a week
- Waiting on decision — Submitted and awaiting a response
Click any counter to filter the list to just those applications.
Board View
The board uses four columns, which collapse and widen based on how many applications you have in each:
- Preparing — Applications you're still working on. Cards are grouped by
sub-status:
- Not Started — Just created, no work done yet
- In Progress — Actively working on materials
- Waiting on Materials — Blocked on LORs, transcripts, etc.
- Ready to Submit — Everything is complete
- Submitted — Sent and awaiting review
- Interview — Interview Scheduled or Interview Completed
- Decision — All final outcomes (Offer Received/Accepted/Declined, Waitlisted, Rejected, Withdrawn)
Empty columns collapse into slim placeholders so active lanes have room to breathe. In crowded lanes (more than ~5 cards) each card switches to a compact layout with just the essentials — program name, key metadata, and progress.
Click any card to open a detail drawer with status controls and quick actions. The drawer has an Open full details link to the full application page.
List View
Switch to List view for applications grouped into three sections:
- Preparing — Applications you're still working on
- In Review — Submitted applications awaiting decisions
- Decision — Final results (offers, waitlists, rejections, withdrawn)
The board is the default view. Once you pick List, that choice is remembered across visits (stored in your browser).
Filter Bar
Use the toolbar to narrow down your applications:
- Search — Find by program name or institution
- Sort — Urgency (default), Deadline, Program name, or Status
- Status filter — Show a specific kanban column
- List type — Filter by Target, Safety, or Reach
- At risk only — Show only at-risk applications
By default, applications sort by urgency: at-risk items rise to the top, then by soonest deadline.
Application Statuses
Your applications move through these stages:
- Not Started — Just created; no work done yet
- In Progress — Actively working on materials
- Waiting on Materials — Blocked on LORs, transcripts, etc.
- Ready to Submit — Everything is complete
- Submitted — Application sent
- Interview Scheduled — You got an interview
- Interview Completed — Waiting on a decision
- Offer Received — Congratulations!
- Offer Accepted / Declined — Your final decision
- Waitlisted — Hang tight
- Rejected / Withdrawn — This one didn't work out
Change an application's status at any time using the dropdown on each card or from the detail drawer.
Starting an Application
You can start a new application from:
- The Find Programs page (click "Start Application" on any program)
- A Saved Program card
- The Program Detail page
Application Detail Page
Click any application to open its detail page. The page has a header showing the program name, location, cycle year, and a status stepper (Preparing → Submitted → Interview → Decision). Use the status dropdown in the top right to change where the application sits in the stepper. A CASPA deadline banner near the header flags urgency with color-coded alerts.
Tabs
The detail page is organized into three tabs:
Overview
Your task list ("Todos") with completion progress, plus a Deadlines card in the right sidebar showing CASPA, supplemental, interview, program start, and any custom deadlines you've added. A Requirements link opens the program's admission requirements in a dialog.
Materials
Everything you need to prepare for this application:
- Supplemental essays — Status and progress for each program-specific essay, with links to the essay editor
- Letters of Recommendation — Your recommender pool status (submitted / total count)
Timeline
A chronological view of every date attached to this application — CASPA deadline, supplemental deadline, interview, program start, and custom deadlines you add.
Tips
- Keep statuses up to date so your Dashboard and Calendar stay accurate.
- Use the Triage Strip counters to catch at-risk applications quickly.
- The Board view gives you the best big-picture overview; the List view is better for focused work on one section at a time.
- Check the "At Risk" indicator on your Dashboard to catch applications with approaching deadlines.
