About the program
Overview
Mission statement
The mission of the Physician Assistant program is to prepare a diverse group of highly skilled Physician Assistant practitioners who are dedicated to improving access and providing high quality primary and/or specialty health care as part of interprofessional teams and who are committed to lifelong learning and to increasing the knowledge base of the profession.
Program features
We have an excellent faculty to student ratio, A small class size. 24 month program with a January start. Numerous clinical placements throughout Tennessee. World class simulation center on campus.
Clinical rotations
The clinical year includes 11 required rotations completed in a program‑determined order; each rotation is 4 weeks. Core rotations cover Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, Women’s Health, and Behavioral Medicine, plus two electives, a capstone, and a summative assessment.
