About the program
Overview
Mission statement
The mission of the Joint MSPAS/MPH Program is to: 1. Recruit applicants and educate PAs committed to public health and community service. 2. Increase access to high-quality care with an emphasis on primary care.
Program features
Our MSPAS/MPH program combines intensive academic training with eight clinical rotations and one public health field study. Your PA education will prepare you to diagnose and treat medical problems, assist in surgery, and write prescriptions. At the same time, your public health education will prepare you to address health challenges at a societal level.
Clinical rotations
The program includes eight supervised clinical practice experiences (each 6 weeks) covering family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, behavioral health, surgery, emergency medicine, and one medicine elective, plus one public health field study over approximately 15 months. Rotations are assigned by the program.
